About RPI - Home of Trap & Treat® Remediation

History of RPI

Scott Noland and Bob Elliott have been friends and colleagues since 1990. Approximately ten of those years were spent as in situ remediation contractors. This experience led to a growing frustration with the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of existing in situ remediation products. The company was born in 2002 and a U.S. Patent for Trap & Treat® products was issued in 2004. Scott and Bob also own three registered trademarks. They are in the process of extending their patents to foreign markets and were recently (2007) issued a patent in China.

Through Scott's scientific genius and Bob's marketing savvy, they have combined talents to create the revolutionary Trap & Treat® remediation product line. Countless hours of field testing and old-fashioned hard work has yielded the model for how organic contamination in soil and groundwater can be remediated in the 21st Century.

Scott and Bob are consummate "hands on" guys. Over these many years, they have field-tested practically every injectable remediation product that has come along. Without exception, they have always had a knack for making someone else's product work better than the inventors ever envisioned. Remarkably, all of this experimentation was done on real projects where money and reputations were on the line.

The initial Trap & Treat® products, BOS 100® and BOS 200®, address the two largest classes of organic contamination -- chlorinated compounds and hydrocarbons. Next up (2008) will be an in situ product designed to remediate explosive compounds in soil and groundwater. The light is almost always on in the lab, so stay tuned -- who knows what they will come up with next?

Biographies

Bob Elliott, CEO of Remediation Products Inc.

Mr. Elliott is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Bob has 33 years of business development experience, and has spent the past 15 years developing innovative environmental technologies. He is well known in the environmental community and has participated in literally thousands of projects since 1990. Mr. Elliott was one of the pioneers in the development of Direct Push Technology (DPT) drilling, which has become a standard technology for site investigations. Bob has held market development positions with such prestigious companies as Capital Cities Communications and URS Corporation, one of the largest environmental engineering firms in the world.

Scott Noland, President of Remediation Products Inc.

Mr. Noland holds a degree in chemical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. Scott has dedicated his entire career to niche companies whose lifeblood depended on innovation. He was selected by the prestigious Battelle Bioremediation Symposium (San Diego, CA – 2001) to demonstrate the specialized techniques required to treat a contaminated site with a new injectable remediation product. Scott spoke about how he and his colleagues were successful in cleaning up a politically sensitive site in an upscale suburban neighborhood. The products and techniques developed by Scott saved the client approximately $2,000,000. It was Scott’s desire to find a quicker and more effective in situ solution to subsurface contamination that led him to development of the Trap & Treat® product line. Over the past 31 years, Scott has provided innovative solutions for leading companies, such as DOW Chemical, Eastman Kodak, Englehardt Metals, Abbott Laboratories, Gates Rubber, Hamilton Beach and others.
