Equipment
The intent of the list that follows is to present an idea of the equipment and tools that have been used to install Trap & Treat® products in the past. This list is not intended to be all-inclusive nor does it dictate the type of equipment that must be used. It is merely presented here as a guideline for your use. The website links, similarly, do not by any means represent every company that sells these items, but only companies that we know have been able to provide these items.

Direct Push Technology (DPT) Rigs
Obviously, DPT equipment should be capable of reaching the depths present at the site being injected. In general, track-type rigs are somewhat easier to operate in an injection environment.

Pumping System
There are a great variety of pumping systems available on the market. Any of these systems that can generate at least 350 to 500 psi downhole pressure will most likely work well in an injection environment.

Venturi-Type Eductor and Conical Hopper
To help reduce the dust generated when mixing Trap & Treat® products, we recommend obtaining an eductor attached to a conical hopper to suck the product into the mixing tank. This will reduce, but not eliminate the dust. This is why we also recommend wearing protective clothing (see below).

Mixers and Water/Injectate Mixing Tanks
RPI recommends using plastic (polypropylene) tanks for mixing. The size of the tank will depend on the pump you are using, but can range from 50 to 300 gallons. Mixers should be lower rpm models of at least 2 HP. A generator will also be required to run the mixer.

Dust Masks, Hearing Protection, Tyvek® Suits and more.
We recommend using hearing protection, dusk masks (at a minimum), goggles with side shields, and Tyvek® or Nomex® suits to protect skin and clothing.
