Equipment for Your Environmental Remediation Project

Trap & Treat® in situ remediation projects were designed to be safe, simple, and effective. Below is a list of recommended equipment for your remediation site. The list is not a comprehensive view of all available equipment or suppliers, but was designed to give you a good start as you begin your remediation project.

Direct Push Technology (DPT) Rigs

When selecting a DPT rig, make sure it can penetrate to the depth at which contamination is present. We find that track-type rigs are somewhat easier to operate in an injection environment.

Pumping System

Any of the widely available pumping systems that can generate between 300 and 500 psi of pressure will likely work well in an injection environment.

Mixers and Water/Injectate Mixing Tanks

RPI recommends plastic (polypropylene) tanks for mixing. The size of the tank will depend on the pump you are using, but can range from 50 to 300 gallons. Mixers should be lower-rpm models of at least 2 HP. You will also need a generator to run the mixer.

Safety Equipment

Though Trap & Treat® products are safe to use, we recommend protective gear be worn at all times to protect skin and lungs against dust and on-site hazards. We recommend anyone working on a remediation site use hearing protection, a dust mask, goggles with side shields, and a Tyvek® or Nomex® suit to protect skin and clothing.
