It’s been a busy and productive first half of the year. Each year (this is our 15th), January through June is always a whirlwind of tradeshows, workshops, webinars and project estimates leading to Summer/Fall field work. Whew! I’m glad that’s behind us and that our product trucks/containers are continuing to roll through North America and floating in at least two oceans.
Despite what you might read on the internet or see on television, protecting and preserving the environment is important to most human beings – This includes people on both the right and left of the issue. As environmental professionals, we serve best by keeping our noses to the grindstone and understanding that the regulatory ebb and flow due to politics has been- and always will be- temporary. Since we supply a great deal of BOS 200® through the many state-supported leaking tank reimbursement funds, it’s important to point out that most of these programs are funded by local tax dollars and that the federal government is only minimally involved. Our corporate mission statement since day one has been to restore contaminated properties to their best and highest use. State LUST funds have been an integral component of what I would characterize as one of the most successful public/private endeavors in U.S. history. I look forward to seeing many of you at the 26th National Tanks Conference & Expo in Louisville, Kentucky (September 11-13, 2018).
In other news, congratulations to our long-time Approved Installers, Alpine Remediation. In March, they were officially notified of their status as U.S. Small Business Administration Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Business (EDWOSB). As a final bit of information, I would like to thank Duane Guilfoil, Principal with AST Environmental and RPI Group, for his two platform presentations at the Battelle Bioremediation Symposium in Miami. Scott Noland, President of RPI and my business partner, also gave two platform presentations. The gist of these four presentations was to inform the industry about the phenomenal success of BOS 200® at LNAPL sites. Scott’s talks about his discoveries related to the bio-availability of activated carbon were show stoppers.
