How It Works: Trap, Treat, and Eliminate

Chlorinated solvents can migrate through the subsurface, potentially spreading contamination. Our remediation technology controls exposure and cleans up the contaminants at their source. 

Here’s how it works: 

  • Model and design: Our remediation process begins with Remedial Design Characterization (RDC) to understand containment distribution and develop a precise treatment strategy.
  • Trap contaminants: The activated carbon instantly adsorbs chlorinated solvents from the subsurface, locking them in place and preventing further migration. 
  • Treat and degrade: The structurally integrated metallic iron chemically reduces and breaks down the trapped compounds through reductive dechlorination, transforming them into harmless end products like ethylene and methane.
